Urgent circular on strengthening the work of atypical pneumonia prevention and control among women who are pregnant or in labor and children

Article Abstract:

The General Office of the Ministry of Health issued an urgent circular dated April 29, 2003 that communicates requirements to be implemented by medical and health care services to protect pregnant and parturient women and children from severe acute respiratory syndrome. Proper disinfection and quarantining management at obstetrics and pediatric wards and rigorous visiting regulations should be implemented in hospitals, with health care outside hospitals immediately available if necessary.

A report on the circular issued by the General Office of the People's Government of Hunan Province, about measures to block the avenues and channels of SARS transmission by strengthening quarantine and follow up management of persons arriving from outside is presented.
