Establishing guidelines for pharmacotherapy trials in bulimia nervosa and anorexia nervosa

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the lack of a standard protocol for pharmacotherapy trials for patients with anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa are discussed. It is recommended that laboratory tests including screening renal functions, serum electrolytes and serum glucose are included in bulimia nervosa trials.

A trial of a relapse prevention strategy in women with bulimia nervosa who respond to cognitive-behavior therapy

Article Abstract:

This study shows that if a patient had a reoccurrence of bulimia nervosa, after treating with cognitive-behavioral therapy, then the patient must recontact the clinic. The results of this research show that there was no use of additional psychotherapy visits during the follow-up period.

Impulsivity and compulsivity in bulimia nervosa

Article Abstract:

The relationship between impulsivity and compulsivity in patients with bulimia nervosa (BN) is investigated. Impulsivity and compulsivity can coexist in BN patients and that both traits may provide useful information about comorbid problems in women with BN.
