Annotation: Development of facial expression recognition from childhood to adolescence: Behavioral and neurological perspectives

Article Abstract:

A literature review performed for examining the development of emotion expression recognition in normal children and psychiatric populations, and the development of neural systems important for emotion processing is presented. Behavioral studies development is affected by factors such sex, socio-economic status and verbal ability.

Event-related brain potentials reveal anomalies in temporal processing of faces in autism spectrum disorder

Article Abstract:

The temporal characteristics of face processing in autism and their relation to behaviour, is presented. Slowed neural speed of face processign in autism and the role of speed of processing in face processing impairments in autism are highlighted.

Maternal personality and infants' neural and visual responsively to facial expressions of emotion

Article Abstract:

The potential role of experience in the development of the ability to process facial expression of emotion is investigated. The emotional enjoinment experienced by infants contributes to the development of their responses to facial expression.
