Annotation: PANDAS: A model for human autoimmune disease

Article Abstract:

The Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcus infections (PANDAS), a recognized syndrome in which, pre-adolescent children have onsets of tics and / or obsessive-compulsive symptoms, a recurring course of illness temporally related to Streptococcus infections, and associated neurological findings including adventitious movements, hyperactivity and emotional liability is discussed.

Annotation: Velo-cardio-facial syndrome

Article Abstract:

Velo-cardial-facial syndrome (VCFS) is an interstitial deletion identified in man that is associated with chromosomal microdeletions in the q11 band of chromosome 22. Individuals with VCFS have a characteristic behavioral phenotype with high rates of behavioral, psychiatric, neuropsychological, and communication disorders.

Annotation: deconstructing the attention deficit in fragile X syndrome: a developmental neuropsychological approach

The developmental delays are caused amongst males due to the hereditary fragile X syndrome.Research on the fragile X syndrome suggests that it should be not be seen merely as a catalogue of spared and impaired cognitive functions or modules.
