Binge eating disorder with and without a history of purging symptoms

Article Abstract:

Research was conducted to determine whether there is a relationship between the purging behaviors of persons with binge eating disorder (BED) and dietary restraint, severity of eating pathology, attitudinal disturbance and increased comorbid psychopathology. A sample of 63 women with BED were subclassified according to their purging behavior history. Results suggest that purging behavior in BED is not related to attitudinal disturbance, dietary restraint, severity of eating problems and increased comorbid psychopathology.
