Bilingual lexical activation in sentence context

Article Abstract:

A study examines the cognitive nature of bilingual lexical processing in sentence context, specifically whether the presence of a sentence context would modulate cross-language, non-selective activation. The findings show that the mere presence of a sentence context, and the language cues it might provide, were not sufficient to constrain non-selectivity since effects of cross-language activation persisted in low-constraint sentences, whereas effects of non-selectivity were decreased only when the sentences provided rich semantic information.

A case-series test of the interactive two-step model of lexical access: Evidence from picture naming

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to provide support for a theory of lexical access that incorporates interactivity and a two-step selection process. An attempt is made to enumerate the requirements of a successful model of lexical access in a way of processing characteristics and lesion effects in order to successfully capture the full range of empirical findings.

Lexical access during the production of idiomatic phrases

Article Abstract:

Three experiments are conducted to test the assumption that idioms have their own lexical entry, which is linked to its constituent lemmas. The results of the three experiments are outlined and are discussed within the framework of the hybrid model of idiom representation.
