Urine electrolytes as markers of bulimia nervosa

Article Abstract:

Research into the use of urine electrolytes to detect bulimia nervosa symptoms is presented. It was established that the ratio of urine sodium to urine chloride may be a valuable marker for identifying bulimia nervosa subjects.

Bulimia symptoms and other risk behaviors during pregnancy in women with bulimia nervosa

Article Abstract:

The change in bulimic symptoms as well as alcohol, drug, and tobacco use during pregnancy in patients with bulimia nervosa is examined. The subjects reported that body dissatisfaction worsened, but binge eating and purging improved during pregnancy.

A survey of binge eating and obesity treatment practices among primary care providers

Article Abstract:

Physician knowledge and treatment recommendations regarding binge eating and obesity are examined. The findings state that greater than 40 percent of physicians never assessed binge eating and the Body mass Index (BMI) was calculated "often or always" by 36.2 percent of physicians and "rarely or never" by 39.7 percent.
