Characteristics of closeness in adolescent romantic relationships

Article Abstract:

This article examines romantic relationships of early, mid, and late adolescents to determine characteristics of closeness and levels of reciprocity and authority. The authors maintain age is associated with interdependence, gender is unrelated to characteristics of closeness, and authority and reciprocity are associated with relationship influence, but not duration.

Longitudinal transmission of conflict resolution styles from marital relationships to adolescent-parent relationships

Article Abstract:

The article longitudinally analyzes the way conflicts are resolved of marital and adolescent-parent relationships. Adolescents conflict resolution style is influenced by the way their parents resolve conflicts.

The correlates of conflict: disagreement is not necessarily detrimental

Article Abstract:

The article investigates adolescent outcomes associated with conflicts in response to perceived relationship quality. Relationship negativity as compared to positivity affected the associations.
