Child behavior and parent management strategies at mealtimes in families with a school-age child with cystic fibrosis

Article Abstract:

Parent and child mealtime behaviors in school-age children with cystic fibrosis (CF) and children without CF were examined during dinner meals by using multivariate analysis of variance. The result emphasize the continuing difficulty that children with CF experience in achieving the optimal recommended daily allowance (RDA) for energy per day and adequate weight gain.

Measuring secondhand smoke exposure in babies: the reliability and validity of mother reports in a sample of low-income families

Article Abstract:

This study investigates the validity and reliability of memory-based reports from mothers regarding the exposure of their infants to secondhand smoke. Results indicate that mothers can provide information about their babies' exposure that is consistent with measurements of air nicotine and urine cotinine levels.
