Controlled trial of a brief cognitive-behavioral intervention in adolescent patients with depressive disorders

Article Abstract:

Brief cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT) is a very advantageous therapeutic tool in the treatment of depression. A controlled study using adolescent patients with depressive disorders reveals the therapy's advantage over relation training on measures of depression and overall outcome. However, the study fails to show any significant therapeutic effect on comorbid anxiety and conduct symptoms. However, the positive outcome of CBT fails to persist over time, as shown from the follow-up of the patients.

Properties of the mood and feelings questionnaire in adolescent psychiatric outpatients: a research note

Article Abstract:

The properties described by the 'Mood and Feeling questionnaire' (MFQ) for adolescent psychiatric outpatients are reliability, parent-child agreement, screening efficacy for DSM-III-R major depression and validity as a measure of remission from MDD. The self report version of the MFQ was a satisfactory screen for MDD diagnosed by a standardized interview. It was also a useful measure of clinical remission.
