Article Abstract:

The developmental trajectories of sociometric and perceived popularity across eight years in adolescence and the effects of gender, overt aggression and relational aggression on these trajectories are examined using growth curve modelling. Results indicate that sociometric popularity showed a linear change trajectory where as perceived popularity showed nonlinear change and the effect of relational aggression on perceived popularity is strongest around the transition from middle to high school.

Individual differences in adolescent health symptoms: The effects of gender and coping

Article Abstract:

A study examined whether in the case of adolescents the reported gender differences in physical and psychological health symptoms could be the result of differences in coping style. The results suggested that doctors, school counselors and family therapists might want to take gender differences in coping styles into account when seeing adolescent patients for physical health symptoms, and find ways to help the adolescents cope more effectively with their stressors.
