Does clinical training facilitate feigning schizophrenia on the MMPI-2?

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to detect feigned schizophrenia on the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 (MMPI-2). Clinical psychology graduate students, psychiatric residents and fellows and undergraduate psychology students were instructed to complete the MMPI-2 and feign schizophrenia. Their test profiles were then compared with the MMPI-2s of schizophrenic patients. Findings show that scores of the participants who were asked to malinger were higher compared with the scores of the patients with schizophrenia.

Validation of the biosocial model of personality: confirmatory factor analysis of the Tridimensional Personality Questionnaire

Article Abstract:

Confirmatory factor analysis of the Tridimensional Personality Questionnaire validates the theoretical parameters of the biosocial model of personality. The 12 subscales for the three personality domains of harm avoidance, novelty seeking, and reward dependence are theoretically consistent with the biosocial model of personality. Analysis of harm avoidance and novelty seeking domains in community-based adults and undergraduate students adequately support the model.
