Edelson's contributions to group psychology: A contemporary perspective

Article Abstract:

Marshall Edelson, Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine, was intent upon advancing understanding of groups and organizations, and his contributions to group psychology focused on two major questions of how groups can be used to advance treatment and how groups and organizations achieve or fail to achieve their goals. Four of his books, directly addressing issues of community meetings, milieu therapy and intergroup and intragroup relations, are analyzed.
