Emotion regulation as a mediator of associations between mother-child attachment and peer relationships in middle childhood

Article Abstract:

Links between mother-child attachment, emotion regulation and peer competence in middle childhood were examined. The proposition that emotion regulation processes control associations between parent-child attachment and peer relationships is supported.

Parent-child attachment and monitoring in middle childhood

Article Abstract:

A study examines whether a secure attachment relationship is linked to monitoring by parents and the efforts of the child to participate in the monitoring process. It finds that a more secure attachment is linked to closer monitoring and higher levels of child co-operation.

Adolescents' interactions with a best friend: associations with attachment style

Article Abstract:

The study was conducted to test whether adolescentEs attachment style is related to friendship interactions and perceptions of friendship quality. The findings reveal that security of attachment is related more to intimacy in friendship.
