Erotomania in an adolescent: clinical and theoretical considerations

Article Abstract:

A case report on erotomania is presented. Subject was a thirteen year-old black female reportedly suffering from suicidal ideation and gestures. She also reported having been sexually abused by older females particularly being seduced and abandoned by her teacher. The patient was admitted to a psychiatric ward but because of aggressive and indecent behavior towards other patients, she was transferred to a more restrictive facility. The subject's aggressive behavior is uncommon in an erotomanic patient and it is suspected that false child sexual abuse reportings may be erotomanic in origin.
