Expectations and fairness in a modified ultimatum game

Article Abstract:

A modified version of the standard Ultimatum game is developed to study the behaviors of Allocators and Recipients. The modified version features a discounting factor not found in the standard game. Results show that the standard model fails to reflect the behavior of Allocators. Allocators shared portions of their 'cake' under specific conditions contrary to the game-theoretic prediction of zero offerings.

On the Formation of Inflationary Expectations: Some Empirical Evidence from Finland, 1979-1980

Article Abstract:

A 1979-1980 survey from Finland explores the inflationary expectations from an informed and uninformed group of respondents. Inflationary expectations undershot actual inflation in both groups. The uninformed group showed greater dispersion of expectations. Results were similar for both the long and short-run. The unemployment factor contributed to survey results.
