Habitat-specific ranging patterns of Dian's Tarsiers (Tarsius dianae) as revealed by radiotracking

Article Abstract:

Dian's tarsier Tarsius dianae is one of the smallest primates on earth that is endemic to the central regions of Sulawesi, Indonesia and the effects of increasing land use by humans on the ranging patterns of nocturnal insect hunter. There is neither home range size nor path length differed significantly between male and female Dian's tarsiers as female ranges and nightly path lengths vary between differentially disturbed habitats and it is mainly attributed to the availability of vital resources such as food and locomotor supports.

Copulation in free-ranging black-handed spider monkeys (Ateles geoffroyi)

Article Abstract:

Ad libitum data on 18 copulations involving free-ranging black-handed spider monkeys (Ateles geoffroyi) on Barro Colorado Island, Panama is reported. Intromission often appeared difficult to achieve, possibly as a result of the large size of the glans penis in these animals.
