Interviews of female patients with borderline personality disorder who dropped out of group psychotherapy

Article Abstract:

An interview study was carried out with patients having a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and dropped out from long-term group psychotherapy following intensive day treatment. It was observed that the dropout was due to separation and loss of the day hospital that were not worked through and a failure of the group to regulate and contain the patients' affects.
