Lower dosages of phentermine-fenfluramine given in the afternoon: five cases with significant weight loss

Article Abstract:

It may be appropriate to adjust the use of phentermine and fenfluramine to treat obesity to better target the eating habits of obese people, who tend to not eat breakfast and eat more in the afternoon and evening. Five cases of severely obese women with medical complications who were treated with phentermine 8mg twice a day and fenfluramine 20mg per day indicate that significant short-term weight loss can be achieved by using both afternoon dosing of phentermine-fenfluramine and a reduced dose of fenfluramine.

Evaluation of dexfenfluramine in a weight loss program for obese infertile women

Article Abstract:

A program of group weight loss for obese infertile women shows little difference in results with or without an addition of 12 weeks of dexfenfluramine treatment. The use of dexfenfluramine involves insignificant difference on depression, anxiety, or the subject's self esteem. Patients participating in the program improve their self esteem, and reduce depression and anxiety. The results are similar in all the patients.

Dexfenfluramine in psychotic patients

Article Abstract:

Research was conducted to examine the effect of dexfenfluramine (DF) in patients with severe psychotic and overeating disorders. A sample of three patients were administered DF in addition to psychiatric pharmacotherapy. Results reveal a positive hormonal and somatometric effect. Two diabetic patients had improved metabolic status. All three patients maintained their body weight and were able to remove overeating.
