New subscales for an anchored version of the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale: construction, reliability, and validity in acute psychiatric admissions

Article Abstract:

An assessment is presented of the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS-A), focusing on internal consistency, interrater agreement, and rater influence for the nonoverlapping subscales of resistance, psychological discomfort, positive symptoms and negative symptoms. The pros and cons of using BPRS-A are discussed.

Longitudinal construct validity of brief symptom inventory subscales in schizophrenia

Article Abstract:

A study was carried out to examine the longitudinal construct validity of the nine subscales of the Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI) individually in a sample of people diagnosed with schizophrenia or related disorders measured at baseline and then after every six months for three years.

The adequacy of the MMPI-2 Harris-Lingoes subscales: a cross-cultural factor analytic study of scales D, Hy, Pd, Pa, Sc, and Ma

Article Abstract:

Research investigating cross-cultural psychiatric scales of D, Pd, Sc, Pa, Ma and Hy is presented. Particular attention is given to analysis of samples from inpatients and outpatients from the United States and Israel. It is concluded that a new set of subscales is needed.
