Older adults with chronic disease: benefits of goup-mediated counseling in the promotion of physically active lifestyles

Article Abstract:

A group-mediated cognitive-behavioral (GMCB) intervention related to long-term adherence and change in physical function of older adults was compared with standard exercise training, and the results included self-reported physical activity, fitness and self-efficacy. It was also found that by teaching older adults to integrate physical activity into their lives through GMCB leads to better long-term outcomes than standardized exercise therapy.
