On Hunsley, harangue, and hoopla

Article Abstract:

Hunsley's criticism on the "Assessment Practices of Clinical Psychologists" by the authors stemmed from their omission of the behavioral and cognitive assessment tools in the questionnaire forms. However, there was an "other" option in the questionnaire where the respondents could indicate other assessment procedures that were useful. Contrary to Hunsley's perception, there was no generalization on the state of psychological assessment practices since the 1960's.

Linking psychologists and family physicians for collaborative practice

Article Abstract:

A demonstration project that linked the services of psychologists and family physicians to improve the care of patients suffering from substance abuse problems proved that such collaborative work improved rural patients' access to psychological assessment and treatment. Reactions of participants in the project revealed that such collaboration increased the capabilities of each professional, thereby providing for better psychodiagnostics and treatment outcomes.

Contemporary practice of psychological assessment by clinical psychologists

Article Abstract:

A survey of the opinions of 412 assessment-active clinical psychologists illustrates that the existing standards of psychological assessment is qualitatively similar to the standards prevailing three decades ago. A majority of psychological-assessment practitioners use similar, versatile projective assessment techniques, which have not declined in quality as suspected.
