Oppositional defiant disorder toward adults and oppositional defiant disorder toward peers: Initial evidence for two separate constructs

Article Abstract:

An ambiguity is highlighted between the definition that describes the main feature of Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) as defiance toward authority and the more general description of the disorder that considers general hostility towards peers. A study was conducted to determine whether ODD towards kindergarten teachers and ODD towards peers represent two separate constructs rather than a single one.

An item response theory analysis of the Hare Psychopathy Checklist - revised

Article Abstract:

An item response theory (IRT) model is developed to assess the Hare's Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCL-R). The PCL-R are rating scales for measuring psychopathic personality disorder. Results show that the PCL-R can accurately diagnose psychopathic personality disorder since all its items contribute to the prediction of the trait. There are also two related factors that underpin PCL-R scores.
