Parent personality traits and psychopathology associated with antisocial behavior in childhood attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder

Article Abstract:

One group of 80 boys, aged six to 12 years, with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and a second group of 62 boys of the same age without ADHD and their parents participated in a study which examined the relationship of parent personality traits with antisocial behaviors in childhood ADHD. The boys were observed during their classroom and playground activities for four days a week in a short time-sampling procedure. The parents took various tests including the Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness Five Factor Inventory. Results show the absence of a link between paternal depression and child behaviors.

Relationships between serum free fatty acids and zinc, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder: a research note

Article Abstract:

Zinc deficiency may play an important role in aetiopathogenesis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). An evaluation of the relationship between serum free fatty acids (FFA) and zinc, and ADHD shows a significant correlation between decreased serum FFA and zinc levels in the ADHD group. However, this correlation is not found in the control group. It is yet to be investigated if the decreased FFA levels in ADHD cases are the cause of ADHD or are secondary to zinc deficiency.
