Participation in power sports and antisocial involvement in preadolescent and adolescent boys

Article Abstract:

The possible effects of participation in power or fight and strength sports (boxing, wrestling, weightlifting, and oriental martial arts) and violent and antisocial behavior are examined. The results strongly suggests that participation in power sports actually leads to an increase or enhancement of anti-social involvement in the form of elevated levels of violent as well as non-violent antisocial behavior outside sports.

Development of the adolescent brain: Implications for executive function and social cognition

Article Abstract:

Histological and brain imaging studies that have demonstrated specific changes in neural architecture during puberty and adolescence are reviewed, outlining trajectories of grey and white matter development. The implications of brain development for executive functions and social cognition during puberty and adolescence are discussed, also considering possible applications for education and social policy.

Online aggressor/targets, aggressors, and targets: A comparison of associated youth characteristics

Article Abstract:

Characteristics of Internet harassment, unwanted exposure to sexual material, and sexual solicitation that had occurred on the Internet, is examined. Various youth groups as targets of aggression, online aggressors, aggressors/targets and non-harassment involved youth are compared to assess the characteristics of Internet harassment involved youth is mentioned.
