Predicting sex offender institutional adjustment and treatment compliance using the Personality Assessment Inventory

Article Abstract:

The utility of the Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI) is examined to identify prison inmates in a mandatory sex offender treatment program prone to engage in institutional misconduct. The Antisocial Features scale predicted various forms of general and major infractions, with no other scales providing any incremental validity beyond this measure.

Use of the Personality Assessment Inventory to assess psychopathy in offender populations

Article Abstract:

Issues are presented concerning the accuracy of the Personality Assessment Inventory's Antisocial Features scale in determining psychopathic assessments. A group of 55 sex offenders and a group of 46 forensic psychiatric inpatients were studied.

The validity and reliability of the Violence Risk Scale - Sexual Offender version: Assessing sex offender risk and evaluating therapeutic change

Article Abstract:

The reliability and validity of the Violence Risk Scale - Sexual Offender Version (VRS-SO) are evaluated. Dynamic items were used to show treatment planning and delivery and to observe the changes in risk that are linked to sexual recidivism.
