Response to the presidential address: one system of equal health care for all

Article Abstract:

Former American Psychiatric Assn. Pres. Mary Jane England lauded current Pres. Jerry M. Wiener's efforts at pushing for health care reform, particularly in the area of mental health. However, she stressed the importance of establishing a single health care system in which patients will not feel discriminated against when they declare that they have mental illnesses or substance abuse disorders. England urged her fellow psychiatrists to show courage and dedication in the pursuit of such a system.
