Recurrent inhibition model of hippocampal CA1 in vivo
Article Abstract:
A study suggested that gamma rhythm in vivo was due to an interneuronal network, without the involvement of pyramidal cells. In vitro oscillations may not necessarily mean that the in vivo oscillations, under physiological conditions, are due to the same mechanism. It may be possible that multiple mechanisms might cause the generation of the hippocampal gamma rhythms as in the case of the hippocampal theta rhythms.

Taming the bullies of Bosnia: frenetic as usual, Richard Holbrooke shouted, whispered and threatened, even to excess. The Balkan blood rivals came around. His critics are another story
Article Abstract:
Holbrooke's ambitions have caused many to criticize him. His work as chief US mediator in the efforts to broker peace in Bosnia may earn him a respected place in the history books. US leadership in the security of Europe is more acceptable to NATO now, and Holbrooke's role is obvious.
