Gestalt processing in autism: failure to process perceptual relationships and the implications for contextual understanding

Article Abstract:

One of the deficits in autism information processing is that there is a distinct bias towards 'local' processing as opposed to 'global' processing. A study examined a group of children with autism to see whether there was a deficit in gestalt grouping and results were discussed.

Autism and attachment: a meta-analytic review

Article Abstract:

A meta-analytic review of sixteen studies on attachment in children with autism with data on observed attachment security is presented. Observations conclude that children with autism exhibit very low attachment security with parents in comparison with the other children.
