Retributive rage: the case of Roger

Article Abstract:

The case of a 60-year-old psychotherapy patient diagnosed with dysthymic disorder and obsessive-compulsive personality disorder is analyzed. An outline of his life and how he might have come to be afflicted with the disorders are presented. A number of strategies on the proper conduct of his psychotherapy are presented, explaining how his life had been shaped by some learned beliefs and how he could discharge of the emotions attendant to these beliefs for therapeutic purposes.
