Science and ideology in psychoanalysis and male homosexuality: more and less than meets the eye

Article Abstract:

The books 'Psychoanalysis and Male Homosexuality,' 'Sexual Deviation,' and 'Science and Homosexualities' discuss the relationship between male homosexuality and psychoanalysis. These books underscore the importance of understanding human sexuality in general, and homosexuality in particular. A review of the books indicated the complex interplay between culture and science and their association with sexuality. They also contain information on the origin and transformation of psychoanalytic ideas about male homosexuality.
