Self-control and ego identity development as predictors of unprtected sex in late adolescent males

Article Abstract:

A study of male college students was conducted to determine the attitudes nd behaviors that could predict tendencies to engage in unsafe sex. Respondents who habitually drank, picked up partners and had multiple sex partners were less likely to use protection. Furthermore, those with low goal-directedness scores and low self-control also tended to engage in unprotected sex. Further studies must be conducted since these findings may have significant impact in AIDS prevention programs.
