Sex variations in the disclosure to parents of same-sex attractions

Article Abstract:

Research indicates that young men and women are more likely to tell their mothers about their attraction to the same sex than they are to tell their fathers. The disclosure is also more likely to be a face-to-face encounter when the men and women are approximately 19 years of age. Gender differences in disclosure decisions and perceptions of potential ramifications are also examined.
