Sexual orientation as a risk factor for bulimic symptoms

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine whether sexual orientations predict future bulimic symptoms and whether alleged risk factors associated with non-heterosexual sexual orientation explain the increased risk. Results established same-sex sexual experience in both genders and non-heterosexual sexual attractions among males have future bulimic symptoms, but the explanations that are commonly given for these risks were not supported.

Cohabitation reduces bulimic symptoms in young women

Article Abstract:

The study examined a sample of 2601 initially noncohabitating adolescents over a 5-year period to view whether cohabitation changes bulimic symptoms in young adults. Further studies are needed to confirm the results, which show that social control exercised in close relationships, might result in decreased bulimic symptoms in female cohabitators.
