Spanish-language measures of mania and depression

Article Abstract:

The translation into Spanish of 2 self-report measures of manic symptoms, that is, the Internal State Scale and the Hippomanic Personality Scale and 2 self-report measures of depression, that is, the Inventory to Diagnose Depression and the Inventory to Diagnose Depression, Lifetime version is described. Results suggest that the Spanish versions have psychometric properties comparable to the English versions of the instruments.

A depressive symptom scale for the California psychological inventory: Construct validation of the CPI-D

Article Abstract:

A depressive symptom scale for the California Psychological Inventory (CPI) is needed to facilitate life span research on depressive symptomatology. Such a scale was constructed (the CPI-D) and its psychometric properties were compared with 2 widely used self-report depression scales, namely the Black Depression Inventory and the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale.

Reliability and validity of the Beck Depression Inventory-II with adolescent psychiatric inpatients

Article Abstract:

An investigation was conducted to validate the Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II) in sample of adolescent psychiatric inpatients. The data suggest that the BDI-II is a promising measure of depression severity for use with adolescent psychiatric inpatients.
