Special report: group interventions for patients with cancer and HIV disease: part III. Moderating variables and mechanisms of action

Article Abstract:

Some of the factors other than phase of illness that might influence group treatment effects are examined and mechanisms of action are explored. Growing evidence supports the value of group interventions for individuals who are at risk for or have developed cancer or HIV disease.

The 1996 Mount Everest tragedy: contemplation on group process and group dynamics

Article Abstract:

The events of May 1996 in which five climbers of Mt. Everest died in the 'Death Zone' are summarized. The events are analyzed from a group dynamic and group process viewpoint to comprehend the state of mind of group members.

Eroticism in group psychotherapy: psychoanalytic reflections on desire, agony, and ecstasy

Article Abstract:

Psychoanalytic group psychotherapy is not made for agony and ecstasy. The desire in group psychotherapy stands in contrast to immediate contentment of drive, which corresponds to the affect states of agony and ecstasy.
