Superstitious responding and frequency matching in the positive bias and gambler's fallacy effects

Article Abstract:

Three studies showed that the positive bias effect was associated with random binary series whereas gambler's fallacy effect was associated with failure. To determine the effects of success versus failure, two 2x4x39 multivariate repeated measures analysis of variances is conducted. It was found that success increased confidence and failure decreased it.

Article Abstract:

People often search for more information supporting than conflicting with their preferred alternative while making a decision. The research examines how advisors search for information, what kind of information they present to their clients and whether they search for information in a different manner than personal decision-makers.

A cognitive footprint in archival data: generalizing the dilution effect from laboratory to field settings

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to delineate a bridging strategy for generalizing a theoretical proposition about human judgment to field settings. The advantage of archival research used is to address external validity by testing observable implications of the proposition in field settings from the target area.
