Temporal stability of the eating disorder examination questionnaire

Article Abstract:

The stability and internal consistency of eating disorder examination questionnaire (EDE-Q) in a general population sample is studied. The items of the EDE-Q assessing attitudinal features of eating disorder psychopathology demonstrate a high degree of temporal stability, whereas the stability of items addressing eating disorder behaviors is much lower.

Functional impairment associated with bulimic behaviors in a community sample of men and women

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine functional impairment associated with bulimic behaviors in a community sample of men and women. It was found that though, bulimic behaviors are associated with enhanced levels of functional impairment in both men and women, weight or shape may be more importantly related to the experience if this impairment in women.

Health service utilization for eating disorders: Findings from a community-based study

Article Abstract:

Community sample of women with bulimic type disorders was taken to examine prior use of health services. It was found that women with bulimic-type eating disorders rarely receive treatment for an eating problem but generally receive treatment for mental health problem or for weight loss.
