The effect of distinctive visual information on false recognition

Article Abstract:

The effect on true and false recognition of presenting study items in unusual looking fonts was examined in the light of the Deese-Roediger-McDermott (DRM) paradigm of false memory. It was demonstrated that both true and false recognition can be influenced by the differences in the perceptual characteristics of study items and that false recognition reduction was memory based rather than decision based.

A theory of sentence memory as part of a general theory of memory

Article Abstract:

Research in sentence memory shows higher retention for gist than for surface information, probably because the latter has greater complexity. The research model's insertion of a pointer to a specific referent demonstrates its capability to model many effects of inferential processing.

A dual-process account of the list-length and strength-based mirror effects in recognition

Article Abstract:

The influence of list-length and strength-based mirror effects in recognition was examined from a dual process perspective. The evidence gathered supported the predictions that the Remember and Know response from the subjects is a function of list length and encoding strength.
