The intergenerational transmission of perfectionism: Parents psychological control as an intervening variable

Article Abstract:

A study investigated the role of parental interpersonal perfectionism as a predictor of parental psychological control and role of parents' psychological control in the intergenerational transmission of perfectionism in a sample of female late adolescents and their parents. The result analyses both the fathers and mothers psychological control is an intervening variable in the relationship between parents and daughters' maladaptive perfectionism.

Social-psychological profiles of identity styles: Attitudinal and social-cognitive correlates in late adolescence

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to identify the association among the three identity styles namely the information style and diffuse/avoidant style and the different social-cognitive and attitudinal factors. These two sections of the factors can be associated with two primary elements in the present theory on adolescents' identity styles.

Parental psychological control and dimensions of identity formation in emerging adulthood

The article analyzes the psychological control of parent and dimensions of identity formation on basis of longitudinal data. Psychological control inhibits progress among emerging adulthood.
