The natural history of cigarette smoking from adolescence to adulthood in a midwestern community sample: multiple trajectories and their psychosocial correlates

Article Abstract:

This article investigates the psychosocial patterns correlated with smoking behavior between adolescence and adulthood. Results indicate that variables such as level of education, parental support, deviance tolerance, and smoking environment are correlated with age of smoking onset, amounts regularly smoked, and stability of smoking behavior over time.
