The role and place of psychotherapy in the complex treatment of elderly patients and its significance in their quality of life

Article Abstract:

The role of psychotherapy while dealing with the complex treatment of elderly patients and its importance in their quality of life is discussed. The results of the study indicate that a noticeable improvement in the quality of life (QOL) of these patients may not be possible even after the objective effectiveness of medicamentous therapy and these patients may need additional sociotherapeutic and psychotherapeutic corrections, which will try to bring a balance between the age-related self-perception and objective reality.
