The taxonicity of schizotypy: a replication

Article Abstract:

Taxonomic studies of schizotypy indicate the presence of a 'schizogene' to be essential for inclusion into a latent taxon. The taxonic nature of schizotypy at the latent level is confirmed by the schizotypy indicator, the Perceptual Aberration Scale. The members of the putative schizo-taxon exhibit a higher degree of schizotypy. The population at the taxon base rate is low and this has statistical implications that are discussed by taxometric analytical procedures.

Individual differences in spatial working memory in relation to schizotypy

Article Abstract:

The Wisconsin Card Sorting Test was administered to normal subjects assessed for schizotypy to evaluate their spatial working memory function. Results revealed that subjects with high perceptual aberration (PerAb) were less accurate in performing the delayed-response task compared to low PerAb subjects. In addition, high PerAb individuals were more likely to fail to maintain set on the task compared to low PerAb subjects.

The latent structure of schizotypy: I. Premorbid indicators of a taxon of individuals at risk of schizophrenia-spectrum disorders

Article Abstract:

Analogs of the schizotypal personality disorder indicators enable a detection of the schizophrenia-spectrum disorder susceptibility, which is dichotomously distributed. A taxometric analysis of several children of normal and schizophrenic parents indicates a deviance in the premorbid behavior, implying the presence of some liability to the disorder before the actual onset of the illness.
