Using the common-sense model to predict risk perception and disease-related worry in individuals at increased risk for venous thrombosis

Article Abstract:

Predictions on the risk perception and illness worry of 174 individuals with higher risk for venous thrombosis are made using the Illness Perception Quetionnaire-Revised (IPQ-R) and the Common-Sense Model. Findings showed that illness perceptions are determinants of thrombosis worry and risk perception. Suggestions for the further revision of the IPQ-R are presented.
