Books are silent ambassadors: the Noma Award for the translation of Japanese literature

Article Abstract:

Mr.Shoichi Noma, the fourth President of Kodansha Ltd., a privately owned publishing company in Japan and his views that books are silent ambassadors and tools that enable diverse peoples of the world to introduce their own cultures to one another is described. Noma's idea is born from agony and defeat, and many years later are helping the world come together towards a unified vision of peace and understanding.

In the memory of Chief Victor Nwankwo

OBITUARY: Chief Victor Nwankwo founded the African Publishers Network (APNET) in 1992, and was the first African delegate to the International Publishers Association Executive Committee. He founded APNET, as there was the need for information and related exchange of experiences on indigenous publishing in Africa.
