International rights business in Asia Frankfurt Book Fair: An overview of doing business in Asia

Article Abstract:

The channel structures in Asian countries are undergoing dramatic changes and there is an exciting place to do business in these countries. The Frankfurt Book Fair sponsors an annual International Rights Directors Meeting to provide an opportunity for professionals from over 107 countries to get together and discuss new developments in the sale or purchase of reprint, translation and adaptation rights with related copyright issues.

Chinese people feel reading is more satisfying personal experience than watching TV. Thus, there are very good chances for overseas publishers of adult and children's fiction, language and reference guides, higher education, of self-improvement and self-help titles, business and management literature, travel guides, lifestyle books and magazines to expand their business in mainland China.
