Jean-Francois Prochez: A daily typeface for Le Monde

Article Abstract:

Typographer Jean-Pierre Porchez designed a new ten-style typeface for French newspaper Le Monde in 1995. The new typeface improved legibility without increasing column width, and is widely regarded as a personal and stimulating change for typography in general.
