LARA: Open access to scientific and technical reports

Article Abstract:

LARA, a French national repository for grey reports which aims at direct and open access to the documents through the Internet, is studied. The contribution of LARA in the improvement of the visibility and accessibility of French reports and grey literature in general is observed while it may join other French and European archives and repositories in a project based on the use of meta-search-engines.

The ubiquity of Grey Literature in a connected content context

Article Abstract:

The methods associated with online publishing, archiving and discovering reading habits, all related to Grey Literature in a connected content context are discussed. The importance of blending together computing, communications, and connectivity is emphasized and it is concluded that web-based publishing is what will continue to take Grey Literature forward.

Quality of Grey Literature in the open access era: privilege and responsibility

Article Abstract:

The new level of ethical responsibility to be met by authors and issuing organizations of Grey Literature because of its access to global readership through the Internet, is discussed. The importance of adhering to strict standards regarding content, comprehension, and retrieval as the nuances of Grey Literature become increasingly lighter is emphasized.
