Screen stars: PC screen-capture utilities

Article Abstract:

Screen-capture utility programs help in adding illustrations to documentation. Six programs are evaluated and compared; each excels in some area, but none provide all-around performance. Collage Plus 3.0 is fast, provides good graphics, and has low memory requirements. HotShot Graphics 1.7 has good text editing and reproduction with Windows and OS/2 capability. Tiffany Plus provides excellent reproduction with many file formats and capture options. GrafPlus is inexpensive but slow and limited. HiJaak is memory intensive but provides excellent text reproduction and file conversion. Pizazz Plus is expensive and memory intensive but provides high-quality text and graphics reproduction.
