Smile and say "cheese." (ergonomic design and cameras)

Article Abstract:

The usage of cameras is undergoing a revolution as ergonomics and digital technology are incorporated into their construction. The increasing ease of use of current cameras compared to their ancestors is transforming the impact and meaning of photographs. Instead of simply recording images of reality, the new cameras offer the power to digitally manipulate images in an unending variety of ways, while their ergonomic design renders them an extension of the photographer's body, leading the photographer into a new realm of thinking.

Design schools go digital

Article Abstract:

Design schools introduced computer design courses in the late 1980s and early 1990s even though digital technology had been utilized and needed by industry since the mid-1980s. Faculty resistance was removed by the evidence of industry demand for such skills. Many design schools teach not only traditional design methods but also computer design methods. Some of these schools have established ties with specific companies that require computer design skills in order to provide relevant courses for their students.
